Jake Fridkis
Principal flute of the Fort Worth Symphony
Hailed by the Dallas Morning News for his “radiant tone and generous expressivity”, and the Fort Worth Star Telegram for his “musicianship, clear sound, precise intonation, and empathic dynamic levels”, Jake Fridkis has built a reputation as one of the leading flutists of his generation and “a modern day Rampal” (Cvnc.org).

Jake Fridkis, principal flute of the Fort Worth Symphony, has served as guest principal flute with
the St. Louis Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Norwegian Radio Orchestra
and as principal flute for the All-Star Orchestra on PBS season 6 (2024-25) which was
broadcast on over 250 PBS stations and was nominated for two Emmy awards.
He has performed as soloist across the world, most recently his performances of Lowell
Liebermann and Kevin Puts’ concerti were featured on an hour radio broadcast dedicated to his
performances.
Jake has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, National Symphony
Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony among others. He is a graduate of the Yale School of Music
and the Cleveland Institute of music. He has won two Emmy awards, a BMI award, a Dove
award, the Nyfenger Prize from the Yale School of Music and been Grammy nominated. He is a
