Middle School (Grades 6-8 )

**No pre-screening for middle school division. Both rounds are LIVE on the competition day, the scheduled time will be sent individually one month before the competition**

The repertoire is designated for both rounds

​

• Handel Sonata in F Major, Op. 1: I. Larghetto, II. Allegro 

• Adolphus Hailstork, The Pied Piper of Harlem for solo flute: I. Here Come De Piper 

 

For participants in Young Artists, High School and Adult Enthusiasts divisions, please find the recording guideline here. All participants must submit their entry, uploaded recordings and pay competition and membership fees by 11:59 PM on September 14, 2024.

High School (Grades 9-12 )

​

Pre-screening:  

**Accompaniment is optional for pre-screening**

• Mozart, Concerto in G Major, 1st movement (Exposition only mm. 31- 91)

AND 2nd movement (Exposition only mm. 10-27)

• Arthur Honegger, Danse de la Chèvre for solo flute

Final: 

**Accompaniment is required for the final round**

• Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, Sonata A’La Baroque for solo flute, I. Allegro 

• Works of your choice (up to 10 mins; may be more than one piece or movement)

 

Young Artist (Age 18-30)

**Piano accompaniment is required for both rounds**

Pre-screening: 

• J.S. Bach, Partita in a minor : I. Allemande and II. Corrente 

*No repeats for both movements*

• Paul Taffanel, Fantasie on Themes from Der Freischütz

Finals:

• Chen Yi, Memory for Solo Flute 

• A work of your choice (up to 15 minutes and could be a selection from a large piece) 

 

Adult Enthusiasts

(no age limit, but has not to be professional player) 

**Accompaniment is required and recording round only**

• Melanie Bonis: Pièce, op. 189 

• Works of your choice (up to 10 minutes; maybe more than one piece or movement)
